Ladder support / development status

26th January 2009

The ladder sites are temporarily offline as the server had to be switched urgently due to running too high a CPU load. This has occurred because site usage has grown resulting in a large database. It is anticipated the site will resume within 48 hours. No data will have been lost

Support: On hold. I am currently extremely busy with other projects - sorry.

Issues Database: Now on sourceforge. Please post enhancement requests and bug reports in the issue tracker.

Development: v0.9.0 - on hold as I am extremely busy with other projects. There is a half written version with some bug fixes, new features and more importantly it's an interim release moving towards a more extensible ladder system / CMS.

Downloads: 0.8.3 (build 89) released 25th October 2008 is probably stable enough for most 'home users'. If you are upgrading make backups of all files and databases as there are no guarantees. Download from Sourceforge.

Too bad! But great work.

Any idea when 0.8.2 might be released? I'm thinking about starting a ladder for my club, but I Think a couple of the features that are currently set for 0.8.2 are essential for us.

Thanks!

Hmmm. I'm determined to get this done before June. I could send you the beta version if you want?

Great!

Wow. Sounds terrific, and thank you.

That timeline would work perfectly for us, actually.

Thanks!

Drupal Module?

Would this easily be converted into a Drupal based module?

Drupal Module - yes

Yes - it could certainly be done and I have thought about it a fair bit previously. I find drupal back end quite complicated and it would take me a long time to learn how to integrate the module. I also think it might cause some problems for people who want a simple installation without all the other drupal stuff to learn. There would of course be considerable benefits in having the security, user management, CMS etc built in. Maybe I will give it some more throught.

If there are any drupal developers interested in collaborating ...

Joomla

I'd prefer it to be integrated into Joomla! But.. Drupal is terrific as well :)
