Spring 2006

It's been a pretty good year so far for birdlife in the garden. There have been plenty of visits from blue tits, blackbirds, robins, sparrows, coal tits, chaffinches, greenfinches and goldfinches which seem to be attracted by the chickens' grain. The pied wagtails are also bobbing around on the lawn. The sparrowhawk polished off another pigeon in the early morning.

There have been quite a number of brimstone yellow butterflies around (spotted in March) although not in the garden. The mason bee house is filling up too and we have had a visit from a Common Toad.
