Forum instead of email

Has anyone made a mod so that the ladders posts a message on a forum rather than sends an email?
I run a ladder for first person shooter game. It would be good if the ladder posted a message on a forum to state a challenge has been made and also give a place to arrange the match. this also allows other players to know when both parties will be available again for challenges. and has the added advantage of not giving out email addresses as we have players of all ages and the forums content/language can be moderated.
